The Thomas Mann Archive is dedicated to archiving, researching, and communicating the life and work of the German author of the same name.
The permanent exhibition, which is located in the main building of the ETH Zurich, shows interested members of the public the furnishings of the writer’s last study. The focus is on Thomas Mann’s famous desk, which accompanied him throughout his exile. The exhibition also includes numerous personal items, letters, Mann’s original writing utensils, and his private library. This impressive collection is displayed in a modern setting that allows visitors to marvel at the study from all perspectives.
