4 km Jogging Route in Zurich

This urban nature running route leads along the lake basin and past many of Zurich’s tourist attractions.

Want to combine some sporting activity with a spot of sightseeing? This is possible on the 4 km (approx. 2.5 mile) long jogging route recommended by the professionals at On Running.

Route on Komoot

The route starts at the Seebad Enge, a popular open air bathing facility on the left bank of Lake Zurich. From here, its leads through the Rentenwiese park, past the aviary, and almost as far as Bürkliplatz. But only almost as far – for a short foray to the left takes you a few hundred meters down the pretty Schanzengraben. You can cross the former moat at a number of places and run back along the other side – this time really as far as Bürkliplatz. From here, you continue to Bellevue, while taking in the breathtaking view over Lake Zurich and as far as the Alps in the distance. Next, the route heads across Sechseläutenplatz, with the Opera House, and along Utoquai. Now comes the final spurt – past the Seebad Utoquai bathing facility to Blätterwiese, where the pavilion designed by Le Corbusier and the Chinese Garden are awaiting you.

Now you can slow down and catch your breath. All the physical exertion is quickly forgotten with a refreshing dip in Lake Zurich or a visit to the tranquil China Garden.
