New Hotels and Venues to Open in Zurich by 2025

Following a rebranding, the Mercure Zurich City hotel opened in November 2023 on the premises of the former City Resort aja in Zurich’s Altstetten quarter. All 319 guest rooms and public areas will be modernized in the coming months. There are also plans to redesign the meeting and event spaces and optimize the food & beverage service area.

Situated amidst one of the oldest landscaped gardens in the region, the Belvoirpark restaurant opened its doors again for special occasions in November 2023. After a period of renovation work, the historical building invites guests to experience a symbiosis of Zurich tradition and cosmopolitan market cuisine while enjoying the views of the park and Lake Zurich.

In the former Hotel Ascot in the Enge district, the Edyn Group opened an aparthotel under the Locke lifestyle brand by the end of 2023. The Locke hotels are characterized by a focus on design and the local "touch" of each destination. The Zurich location will have 80 rooms with a public restaurant and co-working space.

85 workstations, 28 offices, a fireplace lounge, two meeting rooms, silent cubes, phonebooths and attractive outdoor spaces: this is what the Satellite Office at the historical Zürcherhof has to offer after its opening in November 2023. Very centrally located, close to Lake Zurich and the Old Town, it is easy to reach by public transport and surrounded by plenty of restaurants, cafés and the city's most beautiful attractions.

End of 2023, the iconic hotel at Paradeplatz reopened as Mandarin Oriental Savoy Zurich. Following extensive renovation work, the tradition-steeped hotel with 80 rooms, eight stylish salons, an opulent ballroom, and a historical, listed guild room shines in new splendor.

Events in the glass house: the spacious greenhouse of a former garden center in Affoltern am Albis is an impressive backdrop for company celebrations, workshops or private events. An event hall in the basement and a spacious terrace offer additional space for events of all kinds.

Switzerland’s first Zleep hotel, Zleep Hotel Zurich Kloten, is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2024. The 90-room economy hotel is part of a newly created neighborhood. The Zleep brand is committed to fighting food and energy waste.

The colorful The Home Hotel is located in the building of what was previously the Four Points by Sheraton Sihlcity Zurich. The interior of the boutique hotel is inspired by the spirit of the Dada movement and combines eccentric works of art with stylish design. Besides guest rooms and business apartments, it also features a French restaurant.

Something else to look forward to is the reopening of the renovated and newly presented Rapperswil Castle in late 2024.

The tradition-steeped Hotel Florhof in Zurich's old town will reopen in 2025 as "Villa Florhof". The landmarked building will house a boutique hotel of the luxury brand Lalique. Plans include 15 rooms, a premium restaurant, terrace, bar, lounge and fumoir. The historic vaulted wine cellar will continue to form the foundation of the house.

The opening of Switzerland's first boutique hotel of the French chain Mama Shelter is planned for summer 2025 in the building of the former Swissôtel in Zurich Oerlikon. The concept includes around 174 hotel rooms, various meeting rooms and a restaurant, and is said to be highly instagrammable.

The Revier Hotel Neuhausen am Rheinfall, featuring 140 rooms and a comprehensive seminar infrastructure, is due to open on the SIG industrial site in Neuhausen in 2027. Located directly on the edge of the site, the hotel offers a spectacular view of the Rhine Falls.
