The Selfie Hotel is returning to Zurich! While this unique “hotel” doesn’t provide overnight stays, it offers a series of vibrant experiential worlds to explore. Inside themed rooms, visitors will find interactive installations, extraordinary lighting effects, and creative designs ­– all crafted to immerse them in a captivating world full of surprises. Each setting is meticulously designed to create the perfect selfie, resulting in photos that inspire and spark the imagination. The grand opening is set for November 11, 2024.

The Christmas Light Festival is starting again at the beginning of November. From 5:00 PM, the courtyard of the Swiss National Museum in Zurich will transform into a charming winter wonderland filled with lights, music, and culinary delights. Visitors can look forward to a special atmosphere featuring an impressive light installation, along with mulled wine, cotton candy, live music, and other surprises that will delight both young and old. The light festival will take place from November 7, 2024, to December 30, 2024.

Illuminarium

Marina Abramović, a pioneer of performance art, is presenting her first major retrospective in Switzerland at Kunsthaus Zürich. The exhibition offers an overview of all phases of her work, featuring famous performances and including a new, interactive installation. The exhibition runs from October 25, 2024, to February 16, 2025.

Starting on October 22, 2024, the long-established Bistro Neumark in Zurich's Niederdorf district will transform into Cucina Itameshi. This pop-up project is the result of a collaboration between two culinary duos: Zurich-based Nenad Mlinarevic and Valentin Diem, alongside their Viennese counterparts Tobi Müller and Eduard "Eddi" Dimant. At Cucina Itameshi, two popular culinary worlds are brought together in an unexpected way, blending Japanese and Italian cuisine and cooking techniques. The concept revolves around seasonal ingredients, cultural fusion, and a shared dining experience.

In the former SBB workshops, an attractive area is being developed, where numerous Zurich-based companies and start-ups like Soeder, Qwstion, and The Cocktail operate their production facilities. Interested individuals now have the opportunity to take part in guided tours, gain fascinating insights into the industrial history of the site, engage in conversations with the brands, and learn more about the future development of the area.

Starting in November, the floating theater island will once again set sail on Lake Zurich: The Herzbaracke invites visitors to immerse themselves in the captivating world of cabaret and variety theatre. With century-old music machines, staff dressed in elegant flowing skirts, and a stylish interior, it promises a truly unique experience. On the program are changing performances: orchestra and song evenings alternate with theater or magic shows. From jazz to vaudeville, the Herzbaracke does it all.
