Can I take my dog with me on the guided tour? | Well-behaved dogs that walk properly on a leash and are used to being around people are allowed on Zürich Tourism walking tours. On the Made in Zurich tour, dogs are sometimes required to wait outside. Dogs are not allowed on bus tours and excursions organized by Zürich Tourism’s partner companies. We kindly ask you to in any case inform the Tourist Information by phone, including if you are traveling with an assistance dog. |
Does the tour also take place in bad weather (e.g. rain)? | Yes, our guided tours take place in all weathers. |

Which starting point do you recommend if my group arrives by coach? | The coach/tour bus car park at Stadthausquai or Sihlquai. |
Is it possible to go on a city tour by tour bus in the Old Town? | The Old Town is largely a pedestrian zone and therefore bus tours are not possible here. |
Which city tour is most suitable for people who are visiting Zurich for the first time? | We recommend the Zurich Old Town Walking Tour or the E-Bike City Tour. |
Questions About Booking, Payment, Price, and Cancellation

Until when can I cancel my ticket for a public guided tour? | Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the tour. |
Can I change my ticket for a public city tour to another date? | The ticket can be rebooked free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the tour. |
What are the cancellation conditions for private tours? | Private tours can be canceled up to 3 days before the tour for a fee of CHF 20. For cancellations made between 2 days before the tour and up to 5 pm on the day before, 50% of the total price will be charged. From 5 pm on the day before and on the tour day itself, 100% of the total price is payable. |
Is it possible to book a one-hour private tour? | Our guided tours are designed to last 2 hours. Whenever possible, we recommend booking for this length of time, or at least for 1.5 hours. The Zurich Old Town Walking Tour can also be booked for one hour. In such a case, we recommend that you choose one side of the River Limmat. It is not possible to visit all the highlights during a one-hour tour. |
Does the private city tour cost less if we only book it for one hour? | Our prices for the private walking tours are calculated as a flat rate for 2 hours. The price is not reduced if the tour is shorter. |
Can I rebook a private city tour (e.g. for another day)? | If a tour guide is available, rebooking is possible up to 3 days before the date of the tour for a fee of CHF 10. |
Do you offer guided tours outside Zurich? | No. Our tour guides are trained to conduct guided tours in Zurich. However, we can arrange for you to be accompanied on request. |
Can I choose my own starting point for a private city tour? | For the Zurich Old Town Walking Tour, any starting point in the city center is possible. With the special theme tours, we are happy to provide information individually. |
We’ve booked a private city walking tour and are running late. Whom do we have to inform? | In such cases, please call the Tourist Information on +41 44 215 40 00. The team will inform the tour guide that you will be arriving late. The tour will not last any longer, but will finish at the originally booked time. If you would like an extension, we will be happy to clarify this for you. A surcharge is payable. |
What payment options do you offer when booking private city tours? | For private individuals (from Switzerland or abroad) or companies outside Europe, payment is made in advance via a payment link using a credit card (Mastercard, VISA). Companies from Europe can be invoiced after the private city tour has taken place. However, we prefer direct payment via the payment link. |
Can I pay for a private or public city tour direct to the tour guide? | No, the tours guides are not permitted to accept cash payments. Public city tours can be booked at the Tourist Information counter and paid for in cash if desired. For private city tours, you will receive a payment link by e-mail. Payment is due directly at the time of booking. |
Is there a price reduction for persons with a disability or functional limitation and their companions? | No, there is no special reduction for people with disabilities or limitations and/or their companions. |

Are private city tours possible at any time or on any day? | Private city tours are available daily between 6 am and 11 pm. |
Do I get a discount on city tours with the Swiss Travel Pass? | No, the Swiss Travel Pass does not entitle you to a discount on the public or private city tours organized by Zürich Tourism. |
What information do you need when I’m inquiring about a private city tour? | In order to send you a quotation, we require the following details: desired city tour, date, start time, duration, number of participants, language, guest details (interests/age/origin, etc.), local contact. |
What is the maximum number of participants per tour guide on a private city tour organized by Zürich Tourism? | The maximum group size for a private city tour is 20 persons per tour guide. If you have a larger group, you will need to book more tour guides. |

In which languages can the private city tour, Zurich Old Town Walking Tour, be booked? | The private Zurich Old Town Walking Tour can be booked in the following languages: German, English, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, Lithuanian, French, Greek, Hungarian, Russian, Spanish, Hindi. |

Are guests full after the Zurich Food Tour? | A small amount of food or drink is offered at each stop on the Zurich Food Tour. Experience has shown that most people are full at the end of the tour. |
Can I book the private city tour, Zurich Food Tour, at any time of day? | No, the starting times of the private Zurich Food Tour are not freely selectable. The possible starting times are 3.30 pm or 4 pm (on Fridays, at 3.30pm only). The tour can only be booked during the week from Monday to Friday. |
Will we be able to try traditional Swiss dishes on the Zurich Food Tour? | Yes. However, the Zurich Food Tour looks at the dining and drinking culture of Zurich’s inhabitants, which does not exclusively comprise well-known traditional Swiss dishes. |

Do e-bike tours also take place in the rain? | Yes, e-bike tours also take place when it’s raining. Rain ponchos will be provided. |
Do I need to be a proficient cyclist to take part in an e-bike tour? | Participants must be at least 16 years old and the ability to ride a bike is a prerequisite. However, it is not necessary to hold a driving license. |
How many people can take part in an e-bike tour? | The maximum number of participants is 9 persons. |
