Special Winter Experiences

Do It Like the Locals!
If you ask the local residents how they survive the winter in Zurich, you will often receive two answers in particular:
Winter Bathing and/or Sauna
Winter bathing is a real trend in Zurich: many swear by the positive effects on the body, mind, and soul. Those who find this a little too extreme can combine the unpleasant with the pleasant and enjoy a revitalizing sauna.
Masoala Rainforest
By Day and/or Night!

“Masoala by Night” takes place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from the end of January until into March. This event comprises dinner evenings in the zoo’s illuminated indoor rainforest. Accompanied by zoo staff, participants gain exclusive insights into the world of tropical flora and fauna.
Insider Tip
In winter, the Masoala Rainforest is the best place to be for anyone who gets cold quickly. Cozy and warm – and on Sundays even with a fruity cocktail at the Mora-Mora Bar – visitors feel like they are on a paradisical sandy beach.
Comfort Food
Zurich is a food city. Therefore it goes without saying that the city also offers the perfect gastronomy for bitterly cold days. Comfort food is what body and soul need at this time of year.
The Last Dance
It once heralded the future on Langstrasse, but next spring it will be over: Club Zukunft, one of the most popular and legendary clubs of its kind in the city, is closing its doors at the end of March 2025. Goodbye dear “Zuki”, we had some great times together.

For Those in the Know

Teehüsli Fallätsche
Anyone looking for a romantic winter atmosphere near Zurich should pay a visit to the Teehüsli Fallätsche, somewhat hidden away on the Uetliberg. Here, every Sunday and in all weathers, guests can enjoy a cup of hot tea and sometimes cake or soup, too. The Teehüsli can only be reached on foot. To do so, adventurous hikers follow the ridge path on the Uetliberg until they come to the turn-off leading to the Teehüsli Fallätsche.
Please Note!
Good, sturdy shoes are essential – the path can be slippery and steep in places.
