City Tour for Visually Impaired People

This tour is aimed at blind and partially sighted people, but also explicitly at sighted people who would like to put themselves in the shoes of someone who cannot see.

This city tour invites participants to experience Zurich by hearing, smelling, touching, and tasting, but above all also in a manner that is barrier-free. Specially developed for the Disability Rights Action Days, this city tour will remain as one of our private tours.

The tour is primarily aimed at blind and partially sighted people. However, sighted people are expressly invited to wear dark glasses in order to experience the various types of visual impairment. Suddenly the focus shifts to hearing, smelling, and touching. Those who wish can walk a short distance without being able to see – accompanied, naturally, by a guide. Even tasting a Zurich culinary specialty is a different experience when wearing dark glasses.

During this tour, guests get to know Zurich from a completely different perspective. It is geared towards perceiving the scents and smells of the surrounding area, touching and feeling sculptures, and becoming acquainted with Zurich through the sounds of the city in the background.
