Day Trip to the Jungfraujoch 8 am
A scenic coach ride takes tour guests to the Bernese Oberland, where there is a short stop for a spot of shopping in Interlaken, nestling idyllically between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun.
From Grindelwald, the spectacular journey continues with a ride on the “Eiger Express” cable car to the “Eigergletscher” station, and then by cog railway up to the Jungfraujoch – a UNESCO World Heritage site – at around 3,500m (11,400ft) above sea level. From here, participants can delight in a magnificent view of the world-famous mountain trio, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
Further highlights include the “Alpine Sensation” adventure tour and the Sphinx observation terrace, offering a stunning 360-degree view of the neighboring countries and of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest in Europe. In addition, you can visit the impressive Ice Palace, with its amazing labyrinth of tunnels, caves and halls, in the heart of the mighty glacier. The return trip leads back down into the valley to Lauterbrunnen and Wengen, and then back to Zurich.
