On the way through Zurich´s Old Town, the landsknecht – a mercenary foot soldier from the 16th and 17th centuries – tells all kinds of interesting information relating to the history of the city – such as everyday life in the medieval city, food and drink, the city fortifications, punishments by public humiliation and executions, the guilds, churches and monasteries, the plague, refuse disposal and fire-fighting methods.
This guided tour is suitable for schoolchildren aged 9–12 years old.
