Rosy Perspectives

Two red roses adorn the Rapperswil coat of arms. But Rapperswil has made a name for itself as the Town of Roses thanks to the 24,000 specimens that bloom from May to October in four rose gardens and other public places. On this tour, guests are led through many of these rose gardens. One of them is the scented rose garden in the heart of the Old Town: here, more than 1,500 specially selected roses with 75 different scents bloom. One variety might smell of honey, another of pears, and yet another of lemons. The names of the various species are given in standard text and Braille.

Of course, the tour makes sure that participants also get to see as many of the other 22,500 roses in Rapperswil as possible
