Orelliweg

The Rigiblick funicular takes you up to the theater/bar of the same name, as well as the Rigiblick vantage point, in just a few minutes. And as the name suggests, on fine, clear days, the view extends across Lake Zurich to the Swiss mountains in the distance.

From here, a short walk through the forest (alternatively via Susenbergstrasse and Hinterbergstrasse) leads to the tar-surfaced Orelliweg. With its many benches, this path is perfect for enjoying a stroll with regular stops along the way. It is well frequented, particularly on weekends, because the view over the city and lake is simply stunning.

Orelliweg is also a picturesque way to get to Zurich Zoo or the Sorell Hotel Zürichberg. Incidentally, the latter was once an “alcohol-free spa house”, founded by the honorary doctor and founder of the Women's Association for Alcohol-Free Public Houses, Dr.h.c. Susanna Orelli-Rinderknecht (1845–1939).
