Barfüsser Sushi Bar & Lounge

The Barfüsser was one of the first restaurants to offer sushi in Zurich. And to this day, its success speaks for itself: the restaurant is still renowned for its wide variety of sushi, as well as the first-class quality and freshness of all the ingredients used.

In addition to various nigiri, maki, and sashimi, the menu also features other classics from Japanese cuisine. These include the popular miso soups, as well as donburi and dessert specialties.

Located on the ground floor of Hotel Platzhirsch, the restaurant serves breakfast in the morning and sushi specialties from 11:30 am onwards. In the evening, the restaurant is transformed into a cozy bar for guests from near and far.

History:

Since 2022, the Barfüsser has been located on the ground floor of the Platzhirsch Hotel. Previously, it was situated a few house numbers away at Spitalgasse 14. Here it was considered one of the oldest gay bars in Europe, where the gay community were able to meet openly since the 1950s.
