Archaeological Collection of the University of Zurich
The Archaeological Institute at the University of Zurich is home to one of Switzerland's most important collections of antique art.
In the former eye clinic of the cantonal hospital, visitors today discover original works of art from ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, Greece, Rome and Etruria.
Here you can see an extensive collection of plaster casts of Greek and Roman statues, the originals of which are located all over the world. The collection was founded over 150 years ago - and some of the casts have now obtained their own historical value.
