Salon Theater Herzbaracke

Everyone around Lake Zurich is familiar with the “Herzbaracke”: built 20 years ago, this floating theater island has become a popular photo motif. But the theater – which moors at different places along Lake Zurich – does not attract attention just because of its external appearance. One-hundred-year-old orchestrions, gentlewomen waitressing in long, rustling skirts, coupled with a stylish and highly detailed decor, transport visitors into the wonderful world of cabaret and variety theater.

On the program are changing performances: orchestra and song evenings alternate with theater or magic shows. From jazz to vaudeville, the “Herzbaracke” does it all. And guests who know they’ll get hungry during the evening can book a meal together with their entrance ticket.

Every year, the season of the “Herzbaracke” kicks off in Thalwil. Afterwards, it guests five months in Zurich. The floating theater’s tour comes to an end in Rapperswil harbor.
