Zurich Architecture Center ZAZ Bellerive
With the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH and around 1,400 architecture firms, Zurich is a veritable architecture city. Urban development projects are followed by local residents with great interest and are also actively discussed. For this reason, the Zurich Architecture Center, ZAZ, invites the public at large to discuss the role that urbanism, space, and architecture plays in our lives in a place that serves both as an exhibition and event venue and as a laboratory. ZAZ sees itself as a mediator between specialists and everyday experts – be they housewives, bus drivers, or scientists.
Housed in a picturesque villa on Lake Zurich, the ZAZ enables people to actively experience the concept of space in spectacular surroundings. The building, which was designed by architect Alfred Breslauer in 1931, impresses with its spacious rooms and round-arched windows opening onto the lake.
