The Guggi Vantage Point in Zug – Offering a View over the Old Town and Lake Zug

Starting from the main post office in Zug, after just a short climb a breath-taking panorama opens up before you. The view extends over Lake Zug, the old fortified towers of the Old Town, and – on clear days – even as far as the Bernese Alps in the distance. This vantage point is a particular popular spot from which to enjoy Zug’s legendary sunsets.

The people of Zug owe the Guggi to the construction of a tunnel to link up with the Gotthard railway line at the end of the 19th century. The excavated earth was deposited here, thus creating a beautiful elevated lookout point.
