Zugerberg

An excursion to the Zugerberg mountain is worthwhile whatever the season. Hikers can choose from a large number of trails, and no matter whether they opt for a 1½-hour or a 5-hour route, they will invariably be rewarded with breath-taking panoramic views. Some paths are suitable for baby strollers, and an adventure playground, rest areas and various restaurants guarantee an enjoyable day out for all the family.

In winter, as soon as the Zugerberg is covered with snow, cross-country skiers, toboggan fans and snowshoe trekkers are in their element. For beginner skiers, there is a nursery slope with a drag lift, as well as a children’s ski lift.

Zug can be easily reached by train from Zurich Main Station in just 20 minutes. From Zug station, buses operate directly to Schönegg, the bottom station of the Zugerberg funicular railway.
