Konditorei Treichler
It was here that the Zuger Kirschtorte was created over a century ago. Nowadays, this cherry cake is known and loved far beyond the national borders.
Who has never heard of the Zuger Kirschtorte? The specialty was created in 1915 by Heiri Höhn. He sold the business to his head confectioner, Jacques Treichler, in 1943, who further developed the cherry cake and the confiserie. The original building still houses the confiserie to this day – alongside a coffee house and the Zuger Kirschtorten Museum, featuring 200 original exhibits and a dress that belonged to Audrey Hepburn, who stayed in Zug in 1960 and regularly bought her beloved Kirschtorte at Treichler.
Apart from the famous Kirschtorte, Treichler also sells cherry jams, cherry- flavored chocolate and cherry liqueur, as well as bread, pastries and cakes.
