Hallenbad City

Built in the Landistil architectural style, the public indoor swimming pool in the city center impresses with its high glass façades and its 50-meter (164ft) pool, which was the first in Switzerland.

The Hallenbad City, an architectural gem from the 1940s, was designed by city architect Hermann Herter in the classic modernist style. The extensive refurbishment in 2013 highlighted the iconic glass roof once more. The spacious indoor swimming pool with its 50 meter (164ft) pool and five elegant lanes, as well as the high glass façades, now shines in new splendor.

A Vario pool with moveable floor completes the special features on offer and – like the entire complex – is designed to be barrier-free, with a pool lift and wheelchair access. The in-house sports hall is available for other sporting activities, while a Finnish sauna in the wellness area is the perfect place to relax.
