Swiss Federal Railways

By S-Bahn or Train

10 – 15 minutes
Trains run daily from Zurich Airport to Zurich Main Station every 5–10 minutes between 5 am and midnight. In addition, the S-Bahn lines S2 and S16, as well as various regional trains, transport guests swiftly and safely to Zurich Main Station – and thus also the city center – in just 10 minutes. In the opposite direction, the train service from the city to the airport starts as early as 4.45am.

If you would like to see something of the city on the journey from Zurich Airport to Zurich City, the best way to do so is by taking a tram. The ride on Line 10 from the airport to the Main Station takes approximately 35 minutes and goes past, among other things, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) and Zurich University.

You can get to downtown Zurich quickly and comfortably by taxi. The taxi ranks are located in front of Arrivals 1 and 2. In most taxis, you pay a basic fare of CHF 6 and an additional CHF 3.80 per kilometer. The taxi ride from the airport to the center of Zurich costs CHF 50–70. If you have a lot of luggage, you may be required to pay a surcharge.
